We are pleased to release the 2nd announcement of the 1st JHPRA Annual Conference as follows:
I. 1st Annual Conference

Early bird registration is scheduled to open in mid-April and close on May 30 (Friday).
II. JHPRA members meeting
A general assembly of JHPRA will be held at the site on the day. Details will be announced later.
III. Application for a Presentation
We welcome submissions from a wide range of fields related to healthcare policy.
Eligibility
- The presenting author must be a member of the Japan Health Policy Research Association. Non-members may submit, but if accepted, they must register as members before the conference.
Submission Schedule (tentative)
- Submission open:Monday, December 16, 2024
- Submission deadline: Friday, February 28, 2025
- Notification of acceptance:Late March, 2025 (via email)
Application Procedure
Please complete the general presentation application form and submit it along with an abstract in Japanese or English via email.
The application form and abstract template can be downloaded from the Japan Health Policy Research Association website.
Presentation Format
Oral or poster presentation (on-site)
While you may indicate your preferred format, we cannot guarantee all preferences will be accommodated.
Abstract Format
Use the specified format that can be downloaded from the JHPRA website.
- Language: English or Japanese (for Japanese, see the announcement in Japanese)
- Word limit: 400 words without a figure or table/300 words with at most one figure or table
- Keywords: List three or more keywords of the abstract (e.g., quality of care, medical ethics, health disparities)
Young Investigator Award
We will offer a Young Investigator Award to foster early-career researchers. The program committee will select from submitted abstracts, and chosen presenters will present at the conference. To apply, confirm your eligibility and select “Yes” for the “Apply for Young Investigator Award” option when submitting your abstract.
Eligibility:
- Presenting author of a general presentation (oral or poster)
- As of June 28, 2025 (conference day), either (1) enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program, or (2) within 5 years of obtaining your highest degree
Additional Notes
- Limited to one presentation per person as first author (multiple as co-author allowed)
- Graduate student-only submissions require one faculty recommendation
- Submissions identical to published or accepted papers are not allowed
- All authors (including co-authors) must disclose conflicts of interest at submission and presentation
